Oklahoma mom arrested after police say family threw baby shower for 12-year-old impregnated by 24-year-old
Oklahoma police have arrested a Tulsa mom whose 12-year-old daughter gave birth to a 24-year-old man’s child after the family allegedly threw a baby shower in connection with the child rape case.
The girl, whose name police have not released due to her age, arrived at a midtown Tulsa hospital last month and was already in labor.
“They walked in just like any other couple would, excited to deliver their newborn child,” Tulsa Police spokesman Danny Bean told FOX 23 earlier this month.

Hospital staff called 911, and the newborn’s father, Juan Miranda-Jara, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape.
“At the time, we received many questions along the lines of, ‘Where were the parents?’” Tulsa police said in a statement Thursday.
The answer now is behind bars. Police said they charged the mother, Desireee Castaneda, with child neglect and enabling child sex abuse Thursday.

The victim’s father is also already serving a 12-year prison sentence for an unrelated first-degree rape conviction, police said.
The family allegedly saw nothing wrong with the 12-year-old being sexually abused by an adult.
“The investigation revealed that the victim’s mother and family members were aware of the relationship between the victim and Miranda-Jara,” police said. “The family permitted the relationship, and there are photos of the family throwing a baby shower for the victim and the suspect.”
Both Castaneda and Miranda-Jara were being held on $50,000 bond. She is due back in court Friday morning and his next hearing is Aug. 26, according to Tulsa County jail records, which also show an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold request for Miranda-Jara.
The newborn was born healthy and without complications, according to FOX 23. Both the 12-year-old and her baby were in the custody of state health officials.
The mom needs to get sentenced the man needs to get deported and the daughter needs to be moved far away
Having lived in a Latino neighborhood in Calif for several years, we quickly learned about that race. There was a young 14 year old girl who regularly pushed a baby stroller past our home. She was a happy young girl, but we never saw the Father of the baby. We heard later he was in a gang, MS13, one of the worst gangs in America.
Then on Christmas Eve two gangs decided to shoot it out in front of our home. We were not home but at a Company Christmas dinner. When we arrived home, Cops were digging out bullets from the street and the front of our home. They told us a young 14 year old boy was killed in the shooting right in front of our home. We never saw the young mother again pushing her baby, but the death of that young boy pushed us to sell our home and leave the area…which we did.
That neighborhood looked like a normal California middle class neighborhood, but the Latino Culture was what destroyed it. Allowing their very young girls to have sex with older Latino men is unacceptable, but not in that Race. Also, Latino Grandpas have sexual issues with their young grandkids and we have known many who were sexually abused at very young ages. No adult believes grandpa is doing what he does, so the abuse goes on and on.
Around the block from our home a young 15 year old girl shot her uncle who lived in her Mother’s home with them. The uncle had been climbing in her bed at night since she was 12 and raping her. She finally had enough and killed him.
Until you actually live in a Latino neighborhood, you have no idea of the sexual abuse that is released on children…by adults, grandparents, etc. It is a great sadness for Latino children.
Tip of the ice berg, as a teacher, I saw many parents allow their youngdaughters to have sexual relations with much older men .
I think they call it cultural diversity.
I think it’s called “ignorant”, cultural or not! Sad for the young girls that are exposed to stupid parents!
There was a friend whose neighbor had a 16 year old daughter who was a handful! The parents decided to have a young man, 28 years old, to come stay in their daughter’s bedroom with her — to supposedly calm her down. Of course they slept in the same bed…tada tada tada! She managed to not get pregnant, but her extended Family and Church (yes, they were middle class White, church goers — scary for that church) found out about what the parents did to their daughter, — the guy was moved out and away.
Interestingly, a couple years later the daughter was in an automobile accident and ended up in a coma for 6 months. They almost removed life support, but she woke up the day before it was supposed to happen.
Was the daughter different after the coma…a slight calming difference was seen. But she could never forgive her parents for forcing that older man on her when she was 16.
So it’s not just Cultural Diversity that makes parents behave stupidly. Sometimes, parents just do NOT know how to parent, love and guide their wild child kids. Shacking them up with an older guy DEFINITELY IS NOT THE BRIGHTEST MOVE!
Disgusting. The parents deserve years in prison for what they allowed.
Someone should also arrest whoever did her eyebrows as well.
