Warren Is Pedaling Expensive Poison Disguised Healthcare

Health

A number of the 2020 Democratic White House hopefuls have been talking about their Medicare for All plans if elected, and a few of them have given brief hints as to how they plan to pay for it, but in reality, candidates like Warren are only pedaling expensive poisonous snake-oil and claiming it is a cure all.

Elizabeth Warren, along with Kamala Harris have said that part of their plan is to abolish all private healthcare insurance. That would mean that EVERY American would be at the mercy of the federal government for all of their healthcare needs. That alone should be terrifying to most as I’ve yet to see a federally run program operate and cost what was predicted and intended.

Another scary aspect of eliminating all private insurance is the fact that it will result in the unemployment of thousands of Americans. Currently, private healthcare insurance companies are worth billions of dollars. What will happen to them and their assets?

While Bernie Sanders has admitted that his free Medicare for All would raise taxes, Warren continues to say her plan will not raise taxes. If not, then how does she plan on raising the $3+ trillion a year needed to pay for the plan. In fact, when you listen to Warren and what she says she wants her plan to include, the price tag will most likely be closer to $5 trillion a year or more. She wants to include all prescription costs and long-term care, which is very expensive.

Warren’s plan to pay for this extravagant free Medicare for All comes from taxing the wealthy and corporations along with using the money currently being used to pay for healthcare insurance by employers and individuals.

Let’s break this down. The reason unemployment for all demographic groups are among the lowest levels in history is because of the tax breaks that Trump and Republicans gave to corporations and the American workers. Those tax breaks allowed many employers to hire more workers and to raise the pay of many others. Take those tax breaks away and guess what, the same employers will be forced to start laying off workers, cutting hours and benefits of workers. This is what happened under Obama when his administration set a record of over 40 consecutive months of unemployment of 8% or higher.

As for using the money currently being spent on healthcare coverage, Warren needs to realize that there are still millions of Americans who have no insurance and pay nothing towards healthcare coverage.

Warren also claims that her plan will help eliminate many inefficiencies in the current healthcare system. The question is, what does she consider as inefficiencies?

We still hear comparisons to the nationalized healthcare systems in Canada and the United Kingdom. One has to realize that both healthcare programs have run into financial difficulties and have steadily raised taxes and reduced coverage in order to keep the system afloat. Now you need to realize that Canada’s and Great Britain’s systems do NOT include comprehensive long-term care, like that being touted by Warren. Additionally, in many parts of Canada, their national healthcare system does not include prescription costs and they both are financially floundering.

Warren’s plan will hurt the American people, employment, the housing market, prices of goods and services and result in the devastation of the American economy. When you put it all together, what Warren is pedaling is as dangerous as the poisonous snake oil that only hurts and kills rather than cure and help.
