A woman in the UK was pregnant when she contracted the coronavirus in late March of 2020. Doctors put her into a coma to save her life, and she gave birth to twins while unconscious.

On April 10th, 2020, the decision was made to deliver the twins by caesarian section at only 26 weeks of gestation. They were only 1.9 and 1.7 pounds at the time of birth. The twins were immediately placed in special care for premature infants.

Uke woke up on May 6th of this year, 16 days after the birth of her girls. She was disoriented, but had a big surprise awaiting her.

According to Uke’s husband, “It was really terrifying.  Every passing day, I was hoping my wife was not among those who are dead. We are a team. The idea she might not be there was really difficult to accept.”
