Unexpected Weight Loss?

Health Wellness

Millions of Americans want to lose weight and try one diet program after another. A few lucky companies like Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, etc, have made millions of dollars off of overweight people. Many grocery stores and drug stores have dedicated entire sections to weight loss products. You’ll find products such as Ensure, Zone Perfect Bars, Kashi bars, powders to use for milk shakes, supplement powders, pills to reduce appetite, pills to burn fat while you sleep and many, many more. It has become a multi-billion-dollar industry and yet, America continues be the country with the most overweight people in the entire world.

A friend of mine once told me that diet products are like gas saving products and tips. He figured once that if he kept his tires properly inflated, didn’t use his air conditioning, kept his air filter cleaned, carburetor cleaned, spark plugs cleaned, changed the oil, changed the transmission fluid and used the gas additives, that he would save so much gas that it would be flowing out of the tank onto the road. The same can be said for diet products. If you take enough of them, he said, you could be lighter than air and float away.

The ticket to losing weight is healthy eating and exercise, but what happens when you do that and you lost more weight than expected and can’t stop losing weight?

I’ve hear of people who began losing lots of weight after eating supposedly healthy foods or small amounts of delicacy foods.

Do you like shichimi? Many people confuse sushi and sashimi. Sashimi is thinly sliced raw fish, whereas sushi is vinegared rice mixed with other ingredients and may contain raw or cooked fish. Although both may be a delicacy and healthy, it can also be quite unhealthy.

Over the past few years, health experts have been warning people about eating raw or undercooked fish due to parasites that can cause severe health problems. One of those is a parasite called Anisakis. The parasite attaches to the lining of the gut and cause vomiting, fever and gastrointestinal pain, all of which can result in unexpected WEIGHT LOSS.

Liver flukes are another parasite common in cultures that eat a lot of fish, especially raw or undercooked fish, and eating watercress. Symptoms of liver fluke infestation include abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hives, malaise, loss of appetite and WEIGHT LOSS.

You may not be a fish or watercress eater, and may not feel ill, but are experiencing weight loss, loss of appetite or a constant hunger and still losing weight. Well, you may just have another parasite you may not be aware of.

Do you eat pork? Do you ever eat pork that has not been fully cooked? You may have a pork tapeworm. You can also get tapeworms from eating infected fish that have not been fully cooked. The larvae of the tapeworms often move into the muscles of their host (pigs and fish), which is how they are consumed. It’s also possible to get a tapeworm from someone else who is infected who is preparing your food.

Tapeworms generally attach to the wall of the intestines, where they live off their host.

Symptoms of tapeworms can be, but not always nausea, weakness diarrhea, abdominal pain, hunger, loss of appetite, fatigue, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and WEIGHT LOSS.

If you are experiencing unexplained weight loss and have no other symptoms, it’s possible you could have some kind of parasitic infection that is robbing you of some of the food and nutrients you are consuming. Most of these are fairly easy to treat, but you need to see your doctor and share your symptoms and suspicions.
