Teenager Forced to Stab Dad to Save Mother’s Life, Now He Faces 20 Years in Prison
A teenage boy is facing 20 years in prison after prosecutors decided to charge him with murder for killing his abusive father in order to save his mother’s life.
Alex Pompa, now 18, has admitted killing his father Giuseppe Pompa, 52, after stabbing him 24 times.
He said he was defending his mother from another physical assault on April 30 of last year.
Investigators have confirmed that the abuse from Giuseppe had been going on for years.
They said Giuseppe was obsessively jealous, and would even call his wife hundreds of time per day to check up on her.
On the night of the killing, Alex and his brother texted their uncle asking for help because they feared more violence from their dad.
“You are the only one who listens. You have to take drastic action. Here we all risk our lives,” the text said.
According to Alex, Giuseppe began manhandling his wife after he claims he saw one of her co-workers put his hand on her shoulder.
Giuseppe then threw a phone at this wife’s face, Alex says.
Alex, who was 17 at the time, took a knife from the kitchen and began stabbing his father repeatedly until he died.
Alex then called the police to turn himself in.
Claudio Strata, Alex’s lawyer, says the defense has over 200 audio files documenting the abuse.
Alex was first put under house arrest at his family home, where the killing took place. But a judge later ruled that it would be too traumatic for him.
One of Alex’s classmates then offered to have him at their home under house arrest, where Alex managed to take his final exams with a score of 87 out of 100 and even enrolled in university.
Now, Alex will go to trial after prosecutors decided to charge him with murder.
The defense has 20 days to make an appeal. If convicted, Alex could face up to 20 years in prison.
Our legal system sucks
THIS YOUNG MAN DID WHAT HE HAD TO DO TO SAVE HIS MOTHER, IF HE HADENT STEPED IN THE RESULTS WOULD BE DIFFERENT AND HIS MOTHER WOULD BE DEAD. HE SHOULD GET PRAISED NOT BE ARRESTED AND FACING JAIL TIME.
They should give him a medal for saving his mother. The law never did anything to protect the family from the monster father, who was well known for abusing his family especially his wife. The DA should be jailed for stupidity.
I think the charge should maybe be manslaughter, not murder. Maybe self defense
This is typical of the legal system. They will send a man to prison AFTER he kills a woman but if you kill the man to defend the woman or if you are the woman in self defense you go to jail. Look at our government and it will be apparent that a female has very few rights. Men allowed to dress like a female and box or wrestle a female pounding her into the ground and it is fair because the man “feels” like a woman. Men allowed in women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms because they “feel” like a woman. And this kind of BS going on all the time. People arrested for defending a female.
He will be living a horrible life with the knowledge of his actions. Leave him alone . He may help his Mom if he stays out of prison. The system is so messed up.
This teenager was traumatic of seeing his mom being abused. He should not be arrested or charged. I have counseled many domestic victims they were helpless.
