Man Finds Shrimp Tails in Box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch

The husband of “Boy Meets World” actress Danielle Fishel Karp, who played Topanga in the 1990s sitcom, went viral on Twitter after allegedly finding shrimp tails in his box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

“Ummmm @CTCSquares – why are there shrimp tails in my cereal? (This is not a bit),” Jensen tweeted. He tagged Cinnamon Toast Crunch’s official Twitter account and posting a picture of the sugar-coated shrimp tails.

“We’re sorry to see what you found! We would like to report this to our quality team and replace the box. Can you please send us a DM to collect more details? Thanks!” Cinnamon Toast Crunch tweeted back. Jensen then responded that he’s “not sure I’m ready for another box!”

Following “further investigation,” Cinnamon Toast Crunch told Jensen that what he found were not shrimp tails but “an accumulation of the cinnamon sugar that sometimes can occur when ingredients aren’t thoroughly blended. We assure you that there’s no possibility of cross contamination with shrimp.”

Danielle was not happy about the incident.

“She’s honestly mad,” Jensen said about Danielle. “She is really disappointed in General Mills’ statement and hoped to see more concern, rather than just tell me it was actually sugar, not shrimp tails (which is insane). People are allergic (I am luckily not) and their main focus should be finding out how it happened to help anyone who could also run into this.”

“’Accumulation of sugar particles,’” Danielle responded in a tweet. “I am truly at a loss for words.”

But shrimp tails were not the only foreign object Jensen found in his bag of cereal. When he further investigated the bag, he found string, as well as cereal squares with black marks baked into them.

“I am going to get the black stuff tested today,” Jensen said. “Most importantly, nothing new from General Mills since they asked me to send them the shrimp tails that they had tried to convince me was sugar.”.

“While we are still investigating this matter, we can say with confidence that this did not occur at our facility,” said General Mills spokesperson Mike Siemienas in a statement. “We are waiting for the consumer to send us the package to investigate further. Any consumers who notice their cereal box or bag has been tampered with, such as the clear tape that was found in this case, should contact us.”

And to the people who think Jensen is faking the whole thing, he says this, “Something regarding the stupid ‘Did he fake this’ take: there are black items COOKED ONTO the squares and tons of it at the bottom of the bag, in addition to shrimp tails and other SUGAR COATED junk. Also, it’s only ‘viral’ because of their insane response. I would’ve dropped it.”

  1. Wow! Shrimp tails, cereal squares with black stuff baked inside, string??? Where was General Mills’ Quality Control? Out having lunch with Post Cereals? That’s all kinds of disgusting!!! And, of course, G.M.’s Corporate is trying to say it didn’t happen at their facility. Cop Out dudes!

No matter “how” those things got into that cereal, General Mills needs to step up to the plate and accept responsibility! Why? Because, #1, it’s just Good Marketing and #2, more than likely, it was an angry employee who figured out HOW to get even with G.M. by putting those things into a box of Cinnamon Crunch for some unsuspecting customer to find.

Instead of balking at this customer, they should have shown some Professionalism and said “they are sorry this happened and what can they do to make this better for their customer?” But they didn’t and are trying to make the customer look stupid instead of “Doing the Right Thing”.

Tsk tsk General Mills. Now you’ve lost more than just one family of customers, but all the readers reading this and seeing G.M.’s very sad response.👎

NO MORE GENERAL MILLS PRODUCTS FOR US!
