Groom Shows Up at Wrong Wedding Venue and Almost Marries a Stranger

Entertainment and Lifestyle

On April 4, a groom-to-be, whose identity has not been revealed, used Google Maps to get to his wedding venue in Magelang, a city in Central Java. But it led the man to the wrong address.

Instead of showing up at his own wedding venue, the man and his entourage showed up at a house that was highlighted on the location app. Coincidentally, an engagement party for another couple was being hosted at the house.

The groom’s entourage shook hands with the family at the house and sat down at what they thought were their seats.

At first, it was not clear to either party that there was a mistake. The groom’s guests assumed the attendees were family members of the bride. Meanwhile, the woman’s family assumed the new arrivals were family members of her fiance.

The fiancé and his family were late for the engagement party, which only made the confusion worse.

When the mistake was finally discovered, the groom and his wedding party left the home.

Photos and videos of their exit were shared on social media.

One clip posted by the Borobudur News Instagram account has gone viral with more than 35,475 views so far.

“It’s a shame,” an Instagram commenter wrote in Javanese with a laughing emoji.

“There may have to be a pick-up team,” another user joked.

As for the groom and his family, Tribun reports they quickly left to find their correct wedding venue, which was being hosted in another part of the Losari Village.

  1. To the bride you may want to consider marrying this guy. If you do obviously never let him navigate because you don’t know where you will end-up
